These terms govern your use of Ventdraft, HVAC design software operated by Code Sense (South Africa). By creating an account or using Ventdraft, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Ventdraft is a 2D HVAC design studio: you draw a floor plan and it estimates cooling loads, suggests air-conditioning equipment from a catalogue, routes refrigerant piping and produces a costed bill of materials and quotation. Some features require a paid Pro subscription.
Your account
- Provide accurate information and verify your email address when you sign up.
- Keep your password secure — you're responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, don't:
- Use Ventdraft for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulation.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Resell, sublicense or share your account access with others outside your workspace.
- Upload content you don't have the right to use.
Engineering estimates — important
Ventdraft's cooling loads, airflow figures, equipment sizing and material quantities are estimates generated from the inputs you provide and simplified calculation models. They are intended as decision-support, not a substitute for the judgement of a qualified HVAC engineer or compliance with local codes and standards.
You are responsible for independently reviewing and verifying all designs, load calculations, equipment selections, pipe sizing and quotations before relying on them, supplying them to clients, or using them for procurement or installation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ventdraft and Code Sense accept no liability for design errors, under- or over-sizing, or any loss arising from reliance on the outputs.
Subscriptions & billing
Ventdraft offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan at R299 per month, billed in advance via Paystack and renewing automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep Pro access until the end of the paid period. Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Prices may change on notice; changes never affect a period you've already paid for.
Your content & our intellectual property
The projects, plans and data you create in Ventdraft belong to you; we claim no ownership of them and only process them to provide the service. The Ventdraft software, brand, logo and website are owned by Code Sense — we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms.
Availability & changes
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep it running reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may add, change or remove features over time.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ventdraft and Code Sense are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
Termination
You may stop using Ventdraft and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
